Superstar Rajinikanth, last seen as Dharavi gangster kaala, is back as scientist Vaseegaran and robot Chitti in the sequel to his 2009 blockbuster SciFi thriller Endhiran, 2.0, directed by grand maker Shankar. As the movie has released today with humongous expectations, here’s our 2.0 review.
With the city losing their mobiles, it is attributed to the evil Akshay Kumar and now, doctor Vaseegaran has to invoke Chitti who can be the only option to fight against the Birdman. Chitti is now a powerful superhero and he has to destroy the very strong Akshay Kumar and the movie is all about who won the battle between birdman Akshay and Chitti, the explanation of fifth force and why Akshay went on a rampage. Superstar Rajinikanth as scientist Vaseegaran and robot Chitti impresses with his contrasting style and typical body language and Mass characteristics as Chitti. Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumr as the villain with a terrific emotional flashback gives sentimental connect, and his evil antics are violent. Amy Jackson as the Sensuous and hot Robot is sexy. The rest of the cast including Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain are perfectly cast.
AR Rahman offers a rich background score, elevating Chitti’s heroism and of his songs Pullinangal and Endhira Logathu Sundariye are appealing. Cinematography by Nirav Shah doesn’t miss to capture the visual impact of the movie and the showdown between Chitti and Akshay are shot technically in an extraordinary manner. Anthony’s crisp and razor sharp editing makes sure 2.0 is racy.
After the mediocre Ai, Shankar is back with Superstar Rajnikanth to deliver the sequel to his 2009 blockbuster Endhiran with 2.0. The movie begins on spine chilling mode with mobiles disappearance, and later portrays the characters including Amy and Akshay well and the movie takes off from rise and return of Chitti, gaining momentum and gifts audience with one powerful mass sequence after the other, and the second half is stunning with the fight and Chase between Chitti and Akshay with high octane moments. 2.0 promises Goosebumps in second half with the emotional backstory giving good sentimental value too. With glossy visuals, terrific cinematography and songs, and the Superstar Rajinikanth in prime form delivering pure mass entertainment, 2.0 is the perfect followup to Endhiran.
Verdict: Superstar and Shankar make a scientific turn in style!
